Digital Compliance and Emerging Technologies
We shield your digital operation against emerging legal risks, consumer protection requirements, and regulatory challenges of Artificial Intelligence.
Why do you need digital compliance?
Every digital platform operating in Colombia must comply with Law 1480 of 2011 (Consumer Statute), Law 1581 of 2012 (personal data protection), and SIC guidelines. If your product also incorporates artificial intelligence, you face additional privacy, algorithmic bias, and transparency risks.
Non-compliance not only generates millionaire fines but can result in temporary platform closure and irreversible reputational damage.

Frequently Asked Questions
It's a comprehensive review of the user journey on your digital platform to verify compliance with Law 1480 of 2011 (Consumer Statute), Law 1581 of 2012 (data protection), and SIC guidelines. It includes analysis of purchase flows, consents, published policies, and data collection practices.
Although Colombia doesn't yet have a specific AI law, the use of artificial intelligence is subject to Law 1581 on data protection, consumer protection rules, and ethical principles from CONPES 3975. If your product uses AI to make decisions affecting people, you need to assess legal, privacy, and algorithmic bias risks.
Main risks include: improper processing of personal data for model training, discriminatory automated decisions, lack of transparency toward users, copyright violation in training data, and liability for incorrect or harmful results.
The SIC can impose fines of up to 2,000 minimum monthly wages (approximately $2.6 billion COP in 2026) for violations of data protection and Consumer Statute regulations. It can also order temporary platform closure.
We recommend a complete initial audit and semi-annual reviews or whenever there are significant changes to your platform, business model, or applicable regulations.
